Helaman 5:12

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation;that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall not power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

What an amazing couple of weeks on the island of Pohnpei.  We have had the blessing of going to all the branches to introduce the Book of Mormon as our study this year.  We have played games, sang songs, and talked about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon, another witness to our Beloved Savior, that He lives and loves us.  Over half the verses in the Book of Mormon testifying of Jesus Christ!  We feel it such a blessing to be on the island during the year we are teaching from the Book of Mormon.  The youth are so amazing and so fun to be with.  We have loved training our home-study teachers in all eight branches.  They are wonderful women in the gospel, dedicated to helping the youth to know and love their Savior.  We were ask to do youth conference in Sapwalap with the theme, "Hold to the Rod".  It was a great morning, even with the power out.  The youth loved the colorful blindfolds we used to blindfold them as they held to the rod and went through life trying to say no to the Tempters. They learned the rod was the scriptures and the tree of life was Love of God and Eternal Life.  They learned from reading scriptures the promises given by God to those who read and study His word. The blindfolds afterwards were sweat bands, head bands, arm bands, leg bands and about everything else.   After youth conference their were six or seven baptisms.  One older couple who have been investigators for many months.  They wanted to be sure this is what Heavenly Father wanted them to do.  What an exciting day for them to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized.  We did splits with the Sisters and Elders three times this week.  We love that time to be able to join in teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the island of Pohnpei.  The work is rolling forward with great success here.  Thank you for all your prayers for us.  The last picture on the post was Scotty and one of the rattlesnakes he killed the past couple of weekend overnight campouts with the boys.  We pray so fervently for our children's protection physically and spiritually.  Our prayers were certainly answered.  Thank you, Heavenly Father.
