Helaman 5:12

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation;that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall not power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Just a quick note!

Elder and Sister Barlow completed their mission of 18 months on the Marshall Islands  and came for a quick visit of our Island of Pohnpei.  They are an amazing couple and we loved their visit.  It was so fun to have older adults on the Island to share stories with.  They will be missed so much in the Marshall Islands.

The baptism this weekend that we attended was in Awak in the ocean.  The Awak group is growing, with new converts weekly.  It was so nice to attend their baptism and then show a movie “Ephraim’s Rescue”.  Mighty Miracles WILL happen on our Island this year!!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
What an amazing couple of months it has been.  Our mission theme for 2014 is “Mighty Miracles” and we have already seen sooo many!  I am including pictures of Zone conference in January and Zone conference in February.

We took a week off and went to training in Guam in January!  French Fries have never tasted so good.  We enjoyed friends, great food and wonderful training.  The
R & R of Guam is so needed every six months.  Thank you, President Mecham.

Our Seminary and Institute across the island is going great.  We have a regular attendance at our PICS High School of around 30.  The students are learning and we love them as our own.  They are so attentive and want to learn.  We have had 3 baptisms and several more that are waiting for parents permission.  We have between 4-8 non-members every day.

Our seminary activity for Valentines Day was so fun!  We had about 65+ youth come and play games.  We laughed and giggled for several hours.  The kids on this island love to have fun.  If we could only do activities more often, the kids would so love it.

We had a wonderful Zone Conference with President and Sister Mecham.  Then the next day was Seminary Valentines Party.  Saturday evening we had 9 baptisms on the island.  What a great time to be a missionary on the beautiful Island of Pohnpei.  The field is white already to harvest and a mighty harvest we are having here.

We received the wonderful news that on March 16th we will become a stake.  Our members are on fire!! We are all so excited! Just to think about a Patriarch on our island is just such fabulous news.  We are thinking over 1000 members will attend when are organized in March.

On February 15th we had a District Youth Fireside that was fabulous.  Five of our youth spoke on Dress & Appearance, Friends, Entertainment & Media, Repentance & Sexual Purity.  The youth speakers did an amazing job. We had little videos from Mormon Messages in-between the speakers on their topic.  The youth were taught in their own language about God’s plan for them.  They understood!! We had probably around 175 youth in attendance.  Then President Mecham was in town and he concluded.  What a great weekend we enjoyed!!

We continue to have tender mercies given to us every day on our mission.  We had no idea so many spiritual experiences would happen every day!  How grateful we are for them all.  Yesterday a prayer was answered immediately and it was a complete miracle for me.  God is in this work every day!

We love and miss you all.  We added 3 new grandchildren in January and February.  We have been so blessed.
