Hello all,
Sister Chandler believed it was my turn; so picture selection, and commentary are strictly the opinions of the writer, and do not necessarily represent the Policies and approval of the entire Chandler Mission establishment. (Sister Chandler).
Another heartfelt and Spiritual Feast here in Pohnpei this week. Seminary firesides are underway, 2 branches down and 6 to go. School here starts on August 12, at which time we will be teaching a noon time class at the largest High School every day, as well as support and training of 8 Home Study Teachers in the Branches around the Island. Our Firesides have been well attended, and a reminder that everyone here is hungry to learn, because at the firesides, we have 70yr olds to toddlers come, which has made playing some of our seminary games interesting to say the least.
Teaching in the evenings with the Elders is always a highlight to our day. They are fantastic teachers, and if you believe in Cosmic Math, or Angel driven tender mercies, this Saturday on August 3rd, I have been asked by one of our 42 yr old investigators to Baptize her, which is the same day my first born, Angela turns 42, and will confirm her on our 43rd Anniversary Sunday. You can call all that what you will, for us, another "tender mercy" for our Service here, as if we needed another one, because they happen daily!
I never knew quite how Missionary Work is so addictive, but pure joy is hard to live without once you taste it! The old saying certainly works for serving Missions as a Couple, "they just don't know what they don't know, till you try it! God bless you all who read this commentary as painful as it is.
P.S. Other pictures I added have to be clicked on at the left margin. Not sure how I did that? Starts with Jungle Car.

Currently serving on the island are 8 Sister Missionaries, 20 Elders and Elder and Sister Chandler.
Helaman 5:12
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation;that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall not power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

What a Mission!!
Another wonderful two weeks. Couples conference was so inspiring! We are so blessed to have President and Sister Mecham at the helm. What a wonderful team they make! We enjoyed so much a McDonald's hamburger! Hard to imagine you would get such excitement out of Mickey D's! Cold Stone ice cream was another top of the list places to visit on Guam. Our suitcases were full of groceries (too full actually, 13 lbs over). But Sunday's pork roast, potatoes and gravy were worth it!
I want to tell you on this blog about an amazing family. Meet the Kalio family with the picture of Dad and Mom. They have 13 children. He is our District President. We showed you their home in our previous blog. We were able to see two more of their children open their mission calls this weekend. All four of their children will be in the MTC in October with 3 of the four entering October 8th!! Their nephew they raised is also leaving on a mission (also in the picture). They have an older daughter that just returned home from her mission a few months ago! There is a video about President Kalio on you tube. It is worth watching.
We love serving our Savior!

We had a great day with the Zone Elders and Sisters playing on the Island of Nahlap! It gives new meaning to the word "Resort Island". It was so wonderful to watch these young men and women enjoy each others company on the beach. What fun they had! Missionary work is hard and it is so nice to have a day of play.
We love serving our Savior!

What Joy in Serving Jesus Christ
Our week was so great again!! We did splits with the Elders teaching Jheila again. She will be baptized on August 3rd. She is a golden contact. Loves the Gospel with all of her heart and can hardly wait to be baptized. We are having 8 baptisms on the island today. The work is rolling forward with such amazing Sisters and Elders at the helm. Wow are they the best!
We had Zone Conference with President and Sister Mecham. Wednesday was a wonderful day with their loving instruction. Oh how they love us and gave us straight talk to do the work of the Lord! We went to the Pohnpei legislature for a quick devotional given by our District Presidency Wednesday morning also. They loved it and wanted us to come again!
We Senior couples have divided up to do home inspections of all missionary companionships. Only one home passed the Rubster's eye that Elder Chandler and I inspected. Ouch!! I even went easy on them! Maybe next time. The winner of our group gets a home cooked meal. We will look forward to having them in our home for spam over easy. (Tee Hee)
We posted early, because we are headed to Guam for a week of training. The plane is already 8 hours late, so we have lost a day of shopping. Couples look forward to this once every 6 month trip to stock up on groceries that you can not get on Pohnpei.
On the lighter side. We have had an interesting week with the termites. Termite larva in our bed! They are eating our cupboards and our dresser too. Last week we threw out our box springs they had infested. Tiny little ants roam freely on the kitchen counter. Permethrin has become our best friend! The power goes out for hours regularly. You never know how good the food in the frig is! This mornings powdered milk (which we mixed yesterday) was sour already. Such fun.
The natives love to feed you. WAY TOO MUCH! Elder Chandler is not too fond of some things! Surprise! Surprise! I end up eating more so we do not offend! Not good for the waist line! We had FHE at an Uh family's home. They treated us like royalty! We gave the lesson, danced and Elder Chandler entertained telling his super glue story with actions with one of the uh Elder's telling the story in Pohnpeian mimicking Elder Chandler. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen Elder Chandler do! Now he has requests all over the island!!

Wonderful Week in Pohnpei
Another wonderful week on the Island of Pohnpei. We were able to go out with the Elders twice this week. We love every opportunity to share the gospel with Pohnpeians as the Elders teach. There were two baptisms this week with four scheduled for next week. We hope you enjoy the pictures of one of the baptisms.
We celebrated the 4th of July at the US Embassy. Elder LeFevre and Elder Vincent gave the prayers. We talked to the Ambassador for a little while. She was so nice. They fed us hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, carrots and dip. We enjoyed cookies and cupcakes for dessert. Elder Chandler was going to pray in the Congress next week, but we will be in Guam at Couples Conference.
Church was so amazing this Sunday. We went to the Palikir Branch. Patterson was bearing his testimony and wanted us to be there to hear him. He is a 41 year old convert of almost a year.
Sister Chandler bore her testimony a little in Pohnpeain. She pronounced some words wrong, but no one laughed. Sunday School, Priesthood and Relief Society were spiritual! We just can not believe we are here. Such a blessing to us. We love you all.
